We welcome YOU back to America's leading higher education podcast, The EdUp Experience!
It’s YOUR time to #EdUp
In this episode, YOUR guest is Mamie Voight, President & CEO at the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP), special guest cohost is Lisa Honaker, YOUR host is Dr. Joe Sallustio, aka THE Voice of Education, & YOUR sponsor is MDT Marketing!
We apologize for the bits of audio interference in this episode. We talk with Mamie Voight about the disproportionate statistics of educational achievement for low income & students of color - all exasperated by the pandemic. What is the "value" of an education? Mamie talks about her work on the Post Secondary Value Commission & other initiatives where IHEP works to reengage the "some college no degree" population. Mamie talks about how limited capacity affects institutional ability to run degree audits & advanced student analytics. Educational policy also plays a role in getting more students across the finish line - find out Mamie's thoughts on how federal investment can drive reforms & improvements in institutions.
In her role, Mamie leads IHEP’s research & policy team to advance the organization’s policy agenda & serves on the organization’s senior leadership team to inform the strategic direction of IHEP. Before joining IHEP, Mamie was a research & policy analyst & assistant director for research & policy at The Education Trust (Ed Trust).
